Blog Questions: TV Shows Edition

In which I explore the dark recesses of my television watching past.

Thanks to @Joel for nominating me for today’s Blog Questions Challenge: TV Shows Edition.

What TV character from a beloved show do you wish you could be best friends with in real life?

This question is why it has taken me so long to finish this post. “Best friend” is a high bar. Sure there are lots of television characters that would be interesting to know but to have as a best friend? That’s a challenge, especially when you consider that a lot of characters from shows I watch are people I wouldn’t care to know at all!

But it finally dawned on me: Trent Crimm, the affable journalist who once worked for The Independent is the one. He’s well educated so he’d be a great conversationalist. He’s insightful so he’d give good advice. And he’s adventurous so he’d be fun to spend time with. And that hair!

If you could binge-watch an entire series again for the first time, which one would you choose and why?

Battlestar Galactica was a wild ride from start to finish. The first episode’s opening scene—a mere six words of dialog!—sets turns the tension up to 11 and it never lets up. The show’s twists and turns are great, but it’d be fun to experience them again for the first time.

Name a TV show that changed your perspective on the world or taught you something valuable.

Six Feet Under taught me to appreciate this life, because none of us knows how much time we have left.
