My Earliest Digital Photos

These are among the first digital photographs I ever took.

Adam recently shared the first digital photo he ever took. He inspired me to go back and look through my files to see if I could do the same.

I bought an Olympus C-3000Z in October 2000. It had been released in April of that year, so it was pretty state-of-the-art at the time. Its 3.2MP resolution produced images at 2048×1536, which by today’s standards is not too great—but also not too terrible! For some reason some of my pics are only 640×480 though. Maybe I was trying to conserve storage space on the cards?

Here are three photos I made with the C3000Z in October and November 2000. The first is our first doggo, Murphy. He was still just a puppy here. The second photo is of good friend Jim. We worked together for several years early in my career. The third pic is of my dad.

I was a pretty terrible photographer back then (and not that much better now) but that old Olympus made some pretty nice pics!
