My Blogging Workflow

My blogging workflow is not very sophisticated. I don’t use a static site generator. I tried using GitHub at one point, but making updates was just way too slow for me.
The key component for me is the Day One app, which I use throughout the day, every day. I keep several theme-oriented journals in there, including a weekly entry for #Weeknotes ideas. I like using Day One because it is always with me—on my Mac, iPad, and iPhone. Once I have a mostly complete post and I’m ready to publish it, I copy the content over to weblog and make the final edits via the weblog.lol web UI. (Not the prettiest thing in the world, but I’m used to editing text files with vi
so I don’t mind.
Photos are a little bit more complicated because I use multiple cameras and my phone to take pictures. Most of the time, pics come from my iPhone through the Apple Photos app. Sometimes I pull pics taken on “real” cameras off of SD cards into Apple Photos too. Sometimes I use Adobe Lightroom. From there everything goes to my content delivery network.
That’s it. Pretty basic. Cheers!
