One of the things I love about where we live is that when it snows, the neighborhood kids come to sled down this little hill right across the street.

Highlights

Here are the highlights from week 3 (January 15–21) of 2024.

🩺 After reading Keenan’s post about turning off website analytics I’m wondering if I should do the same. The first of the year seems like a good time to reassess. (I’m looking at you too Micro.blog.) Alas, both are paid for a year so I guess I have a lot of time to think it over.

📐 Another of my registered domains came up for renewal this week and I’m taking the opportunity to transfer it to Porkbun. I’ve been pretty happy with them so far, so I imagine eventually I’ll get everything moved over.

🇪🇨 During my recent trip to Ecuador I was inspired to resume my study of Spanish language. I’m going to go the self-study route for now, so we’ll see how it goes. A friend of mine recommended Berlitz, but they’re so expensive!

🥝 Shout out to kiwis (the fruit, not the bird). I love them.

🎄 Finally got the Christmas tree and the last of the decorations taken down and put away for another year. I can also feel the days getting longer again. The reign of darkness will be over soon. Media Highlights

🐻 Season 2 of The Bear was tremendous. How is this show so good? S2E7 was out of this world and the season finale was super intense. I’m blown away.

📺 And since I have Hulu again I’ve been working my way through season 2 of Only Murders in the Building. I have to admit, it makes me laugh a lot.

✈️ During one of the long flights last week I finally started watching Slow Horses from the beginning. Despite being very slow to get going, it finally got interesting around episode 4 or 5. Finished season 1 and now ready for season 2.

Next up: three straight five-day work weeks before the next adventure.
