Last Week In Arizona (Weeknotes

Bits and Pieces
🌻 Wrapped up the month-long Battle of the Blooms 2024 on Sunday. There were a few upsets along the way, and by that I mean there were a few polls in which my preferred flowers lost! There were at least a few votes cast every day, so a few people noticed what was going on. I hope they enjoyed it.
Thanks to Basic Apple Guy, I now have a fresh new dynamic wallpaper for my Mac.
🚀 I started the week by taking Monday off work so I could spend time with my wife and daughter in Tucson. We drove down the highway to visit the Titan Missile Museum. Two very enthusiastic thumbs up! It’s a small place, and rather out of the way, but well worth the trip. We were fortunate to have been part of a tour group led by Dave, who was stationed at that very base in the 1970s. His minute-by-minute rundown of how an order to launch during the Cold War would have taken place was vivid and frightening and captivating in a way I’ve not experienced at any historic site before. And seeing a 103-foot tall Titan II missile standing upright in its silo is pretty darn cool too.
⚾ Thanks to T-Mobile, I have access to MLB.TV again this season. I don’t watch many games—especially since my home team is blacked out 😠—but I do enjoy listening to the play by play from the radio announcers.
🎨 We drove down to Tubac, a small town in southern Arizona that is home to many art galleries, gift shops, boutiques, restaurants, and a big bunny. We stopped in at Elvira’s for a bite to eat. Despite being very busy (and our not having a reservation) they found a table for us and we were able to sample one of their famous moles.
1️⃣ Did you know…Interstate 19 in Arizona is marked entirely in kilometers?
😪 After two days in row of having to get up at 3:00 AM—one day to take our daughter to the airport to catch a 5:00 AM flight, and the next day to repeat the same routine ourselves—it was nice to get home and get some catch-up sleep.

🍷 I’m currently on volume 14 of The Drops of God by Tadashi Agi.
Movies and Television
🌴 Palm Royale looks like it could be interesting. After one episode, it’s at least got the virtue of being a little different.
🍀 Irish Wish is a fairly mediocre rom-com that doesn’t surprise or delight, but it’s watchable.
Music
Found Laidback, another nice chill playlist from Apple Music.
Now back to our regular programming. Have a great week!
