Weeknotes: Week 18, 2023

🇮🇹 I’ve been getting the Italian language bug again lately, so I enrolled in a beginning Italian Language and Culture course delivered by Wellesley College via 2U/edX. I’m not usually too good at sticking with things like this so we’ll see how it goes.
-
✍️ I’m also learning how to draw mandalas, thanks to this workbooklet by the blue-haired and bespectacled Del Angharad. I’m three exercises in and it’s already clear there’s no hope for me as an artist. But then again I knew that already.
-
☁️ In work-related learning, I knocked out a few more chapters of A Cloud Guru’s “Google Certified Associate Cloud Engineer” course.
-
🍿 I’m confident these coming attractions won’t add anything to my overall intelligence, but they look like fun: Gran Turismo (August) and Dune: Part II (November).
-
🚢 Silversea’s new interactive digital brochure, “Worldwide Voyages 2024” is out. Who’s up for a 125-night pole-to-pole Grand Voyage, visiting 90 ports of call from Chile to Norway? Fares start at a mere $95,000 per person.
-
🎡 The Adventure Sky Wheel is coming to the Columbus Zoo this month. According to the Zoo’s announcement, the 110-foot giant wheel will make a “limited appearance only for 2023.” I wonder who owns and operates that thing. Should I ride it?
-
🚴 Saturday was beautiful so I took the new bike out for a 15-mile ride that included a visit to the OSU campus. It’s not a lot, but it was a workout. The last two miles or so were all uphill and I was very sloooooooow.
