Weeknotes No. 25-38

Here’s what happened during the week of September 14–21, 2025.

It was another five-day work week. I try to avoid these as much as possible, but they inevitably sneak their way onto my calendar. Fortunately, two short (four-day) weeks are coming thanks to a long weekend trip.

I had my first tattoo session for the new sleeve tattoo. The theme is a sort of organic style, taking design inspiration from filigree and floral motifs. The first session focused on the line work, but there will be a lot of color when it’s all done. This session was about four hours, with the first hour being stenciling and drawing, followed by three hours of needling/inking. It was a lot, and it got a little spicy at times, but I pushed through with the help of some Gatorade and a few M&Ms. I was glad I had eaten a big meal ahead of time. Next session will be in about four weeks.

The weather was beautiful this week, with highs in the 80s and sunshine every day. That meant I was able to get outside nearly every day for a lunch time walk. I enjoy the warm weather, even if it means I break a sweat. I’ll miss these days when the cold gloom of late autumn and winter returns to torment us with short cloudy days and long dark nights.

Our dear friends from Maryland arrived on Saturday. We grilled out and enjoyed dinner on the patio. We did a short hike at a local park on Sunday morning, before splitting off to do our own thing. They’ll be with us all week though, so we’ll have plenty of time to visit while they’re here.

I deleted my TikTok account in light of the stinky deal that will transfer an 80% ownership stake to Trump allies, including the devil himself, to form a new “American” TikTok. No thanks.
